Missouri Baptist Medical Center Breast HealthCare Center

The existing Breast HealthCare Center and Clinic had been in its location for many years. The Center was overcrowded, patient flow was not comfortable and the place looked dated and drab. The new Breast HealthCare Center expanded the waiting, reception and registration into an adjacent suite on the east while the Clinic moved into a suite on the west side of the Health Center. This expansion allowed for the Clinic and Health Center to be separate but combined to share diagnostic and patient treatment facilities. Four phases over ten months completely renovated approximately 22,000 square feet with new lighting, finishes, furniture, casework and equipment while maintaining the HealthCare Center and the Clinic’s full operation. The design supports a more spa-like environment that reduces anxiety and provides a more positive atmosphere for patients and staff.

01 Special Features & Challenges

One significant challenge for this project was the incorporation of the construction work in an extremely sensitive outpatient clinic space. The construction phasing was completed in 5 major phases with additional move phases in between. Special features included the incorporation of large format artwork throughout the lobbies and waiting areas to provide serenity / spa like feeling for the patients in this clinic.
