University of Missouri – Women’s and Children’s Hospital 2nd Floor NICU Expansion

This project expanded and renovated 12,800 square feet of space to convert and merge the existing Adult Intensive Care Unit into an expanded and dedicated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located on the second floor of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital at the University of Missouri – Columbia. The program required the addition of five new private rooms, conversion of six existing adult rooms into private patient rooms, and the reorganization of the support core. In addition, the project upgraded the medical gas system distribution, nurse call system, patient monitoring system, telephone/data infrastructure wiring, some minor MEPFP system code upgrades, and building code upgrades related to the consolidation of the existing double-use suite area.
